In the hospital

I packed nearly our ENTIRE newborn stash of diapers in the hospital bag.  I was really gung-ho on using them from the very beginning.  We used 1 while there, and 2 heading home.  The hospital had said that as long as we did the diaper changes, it was fine to use cloth (you room in with baby).

I had complications right after birth and the hospital put a disposable on her.  We were there for less than 36 hours, so it wasn't a huge deal.  I played around some with the diapers, put a prefold on her, a cover, and took some cute pictures with her fleece and wool pants.

Other than that it was just easier to use the hospital's disposables.  Before we left to go home I put her in an all in one.  I loved it!!!

Modified bedrest + 16 weeks to go + a laptop with paypal = a lot of cloth diapers! (And my diaper stash)

I was put on bedrest at 24 weeks, and was out of work.  My parents lent me a laptop so I could rest with my feet up on the couch.  Turns out paypal is pretty easy to use!

I had already decided before we found out that baby was a girl to cloth diaper, but bedrest was bad on my wallet!!  I occupied my time looking at cute diapers and accessories.

I loved getting all the cute, squishy diapers in the mail.  It's hard to say that about disposables!

Here was my pre-baby newborn and bigger sized diaper stash, starting with the newborns:
All in ones: 3 BumGenius XS, 1 Grovia Newborn, and 4 Lil Joeys
Pocket diapers: 2 fuzzibunz and a Thirsties Duo Size 1

My One-Size stash:
All in ones: 2 bumgenius elementals, 1 MamaTutu all in two
Pockets: 1 ebay pocket, 20 BumGenius 3.0, 2 nubunz, 2 SweetDollBaby, 1 Blueberry minky, 1 Kawaii, 9 Rumparooz
Fitteds: 5 goodmamas, 1 Twinkie Tush, 2 Rockstars, 1 Clover Contour, 1 Little Boppers, 1 Monkey Snuggles, 2 Sticky Peas
Prefolds: 1 hemp babies, and 2 econobums
Covers: 2 econobum covers and a rumparooz

Accessories:
70+ cloth wipes
4 hemp doublers/bamboo inserts'
4 snappis
2 pail liners
5 wetbags (2 small for diaper bag, one large one for main floor, and 2 larger ones for daycare)

It seems like a lot, but most of it was used and at a pretty good discount.  Some of the one size pockets were dirt cheap and need new elastic, but even after repairs they will still be about 25% of the cost of new!
